The GeoMedia Desktop 2016 v16.2 patch (16.00.0000.20075) is now available.

The patch is available for download at the Geospatial downloads website

Instructions to install this minor patch release:

  1. Exit all GeoMedia applications.
  2. Ensure that GeoMedia Desktop 2016 v16.1 (16.00.0000.10267 or later) is installed.
  3. Extract the .zip file to some temporary folder location.
  4. Do one of the following:
    1. Right-click on Update.exe and use the “Run as Administrator” option.
    2. From an Administrator command prompt run “Update.exe /S /v/qn” for silent mode execution.
  5. After the patch loads, run the GeoMedia Desktop Configuration Wizard to select one of three
tiered packages; GeoMedia Essentials, GeoMedia Advantage or GeoMedia Professional, based on
the licensed product purchased and complete the installation.

This release is an incremental install on top of the full install of v16.1. It requires access to the original 16.1 installation media while installing.

Prerequisites:

  • GeoMedia Desktop 16.1 (16.00.0000.10267 or later)
  • .NET Framework 4.5.1 Full Profile

Once the product is downloaded, a run-time license is required.

Fixes include:

Resolved a perfomance issue when opening a GWS.
Problem importing GTech legend and then saving .gws.
GM 16.2: Unable to connect new library via SQL Read-Write & Read-Only connection.

Important Note:

This patch is not compatible with language packs created for prior versions of the software.  Once the patch is installed, the GeoMedia Desktop Configuration Wizard will run and will offer only English as a language choice.  You may revert the patch and return to use of your language pack of choice by running the Hexagon Geospatial Setup Manager, selecting the “Update” entry present in the Installed Software list, and clicking Remove.

Also refer to the release guide delivered in the zip file and attached below.

Is it possible to get or find a more detailed description of the problems fixed with this patch? (IG-7091, IG-6773 and IG-7215)

Thank you!

Cristna,

Details of the 3 fixesas follows:

-Resolved a perfomance issue when openeing a GWS. - IG-7091

The performance of loading Dynamic Segmentation queries has dropped significantly in version 16.2 as compared to version 16.1.   A  Dynamic Segmentation query created in 16.1 took 1 min 57 seconds to complete with GeoMedia.exe at 773 mb memory use upon  completion.  The same query opened in 16.2 did not complete in 25 minutes where the GeoMedia.exe was only at 348 mb memory use.    The 16.2 query was manually terminated using task manager and not allowed to complete.

-Problem importing GTech legend and then saving .gws. - IG-6773

Issue/error occurs when saving workspace because imported GTech legends Style Properties with advanced tab attribute based  expressions. The problem is in the style rules list separator "In (...)" function which should be a semi-colon ";" but is a comma ",".  In the style  properties dialog if the list separator "In (...)" function expression is changed from “,” to “;”the error will not occur and the .gws can be saved  without an error.  This is on German machine with German GM configured.

-GM 16.2: Unable to connect new library via SQL Read-Write & Read-Only connection. - IG-7215

When attempt to connect to GeoMedia Library stored in MS SQL the following error occurs:

      *******

      GeoMedia Desktop

Unable to create library database objects.  Standard metadata tables may be missing.

      *******

This error in 16.2 prevents use of MS SQL Libraries and occurs despite connecting using the same user credentials as used in the successful 16.1 connection.

Kind regards,

Your Hexagon Geospatial Support Team
