Attribute queries based on G/Technology features no longer editable after upgrade from 2014 to 2016

Hi All,

We upgraded GeoMedia Desktop 2014 to 2016 (16.00.0000 Build 1415). After the upgrade, we realised the following issue:

  • We do have GeoWorkSpaces with attribute queries based on G/Technology features; When opening the respective Geoworkspaces, attribute queries basing on G/Tech features could be edited in GeoMedia 2014.
  • When opening the Geoworkspaces created with previous GeoMedia-Versions in GeoMedia2016, existing attribute queries on G/Tech-Features can no longer be edited.
  • When the attribute queries are recreated in GeoMedia2016 they become again editable
  • Attribute queries created in previous GeoMedia-Versions on conventional features (e.g. features coming from Oracle or Access-datasources) are still editable when the Geoworkspace is opened in GeoMedia 2016.

In our case it is crucial that the existing attribute queries based on G/Tech features remain editable in GeoMedia 2016 without creating all of them again from the scratch!

Therefore my questions:

  • Is this a well known issue?
  • If yeas, does a work-around exist? (besides creating all queries again in GeoMedia 2016!)
  • Am I right in assuming, that the "G/Technology Interface" is already integrated in GeoMedia 2016?

Any hints are highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Attribute queries based on G/Technology features no longer editable after upgrade from 2014 to 2

Problems with queries you describe suggest something has changed in the GTech database/metadata.

Please log a support ticket at https://hexagongeospatial.force.com/supportportal/s/

Please include G/Tech version number.
