Implementing products within Microsoft Azure Cloud

Hi,

I am interested to know if anyone has implemented any of the WebGIS products within the Microsoft Azure cloud or integrated with Azure Cloud services such as Federation Services or Azure Active Directory Application Proxy?

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/active-directory-application-proxy-get-start...

A number of our customers are now wanting to allow access to Hexagon WebGIS products through their Azure cloud and want to discuss how they can secure access to the products and allow devices on the internet to access web services and Geospatial Portal sites that will authenticate to Azure services.

I hope there is someone who has experience with these technologies.

Thanks,

Colin

Re: Implementing products within Microsoft Azure Cloud

Colin,

I have a customer with WebMap Advantage 2016 Implementation with Geospatial Portal installed on a Windows 2012 Server that is on Microsoft Azure cloud  As much as I remember the main problem (or limitation) that I had to fight was that I had problems  when doing  testing Geospatial Portal development calling it with http://localhost , instead I had to call everywhere the portal and services with full domain path. I tried to set IIS binding like others project servers that we have (since I though it was the cause), but no luck, so at the the end I couldn't call any service with localhost.  I don't know if this was a limitation on Azure cloud or customer system settings, but it's a IIS limitation, a part of this I didn't find any specific problem and customer is working fine. Also the calls from others clients needs full domain path, doesn't work with call to http://Server_name/Geospatial_Portal_instance

Re: Implementing products within Microsoft Azure Cloud

Thanks for your reply Josep. Was access to the Geospatial Portal instances secured in any way (and if so, how?), or were these publicly accessible Geospatial Portal web sites (annonymous access)?

Anonymous Access to Geospatial Portal instances.
