Apollo 2020 - which system requirements are 'viable'

Apollo 2020 lists two system requirements:

  • "we recommend existing customers currently using Windows Server 2012 R2 start
    planning to upgrade"
Does that mean Windows Server 2012 R2 is considered viable and customers should plan future upgrade, or do customers really need to upgrade to server 2016/2019 before upgrading to Apollo 2020?
  • Requirements list Microsoft SQL Server 2017 (only).
Is Microsoft SQL Server 2016 considered viable?

Re: Apollo 2020 - which system requirements are 'viable'

Hi Shaun,

I would say that the message is meant as a kind recommendation. The Windows Server 2012 R2 is viable, however keep in mind that it's out of Microsoft's maintenance support since 10/9/2018 and is now on the extended support line which is somewhat limited.

Regarding the MSSQL Server 2016 - this version was recently internally tested and is supported with Apollo 2020.

Jan
