Upgrade JAVA for Apollo 16.4

Apollo 16.4 comes with JDK, user can can try the following workflow to upgrade JAVA installation that come with Apollo. This workflow is not supported workflow, so use at your own risk.

 

1. Downloaded and install 64 bit Java jdk and JRE
2. Downloaded and install 32 bit Java jdk and JRE
3. Server Upgrade
a.Stop Tomcat APOLLO Application server
b.Rename C:\Program Files\Hexagon\ERDAS APOLLO\tools\jdk to C:\Program Files\Hexagon\ERDAS APOLLO\tools\jdk-original
c.Rename C:\Program Files\Hexagon\ERDAS APOLLO\tools\jdk64 to C:\Program Files\Hexagon\ERDAS APOLLO\tools\jdk64-original
d.Copy all the files and folder found in the JDK folder of the 64 bit JDK (from the installation in step 1) to C:\Program Files\Hexagon\ERDAS APOLLO\tools\jdk64
e.Copy all the files and folder found in the JDK folder of the 32 bit JDK (from the installation in step 2) to C:\Program Files\Hexagon\ERDAS APOLLO\tools\jdk
f.Restart Tomcat
4. Data Manager Upgrade (Data Manager is still 32bit, so need 32bit JRE)
a. Rename C:\Program Files (x86)\Hexagon\ERDAS APOLLO Data Manager\jre7 to C:\Program Files (x86)\Hexagon\ERDAS APOLLO Data Manager\jre7-original
b. Copy all the files and folder found 32 bit JRE (from the installation in step 2) to C C:\Program Files (x86)\Hexagon\ERDAS APOLLO Data Manager\jre7

 

NOTE: Apollo 16.5 (2018) server installation doesn't come with JDK or JRE anymore, so customer can upgrade JAVA seperately.
