After a recent Chrome policy update (Version 84.0.4147.105) the cookies in Geospatial Portal may be blocked by the browser. This causes errors like "Request not allowed" when attempting to connect to the APOLLO catalog service. We have only observed this on beta builds of APOLLO and the Geospatial Portal team has already fixed this for the next release. However, if an existing APOLLO user should encounter this issue, the following workaround should correct it.
As an Administrator, edit Geospatial Portal's web.config file, …Program Files\Common Files\Hexagon\Services\Instances\apollo-portal\Web.config. Find the following section:
<system.web> <httpCookies sameSite="None" requireSSL="false" /> <sessionState cookieSameSite="None" />
Change values from None to Strict as follows:
<httpCookies sameSite="Strict" requireSSL="false" />
<sessionState cookieSameSite="Strict" />
The change to web.config should trigger a refresh of the apollo-portal application pool (apollo-portalAppPool). You will need to restart Geospatial Portal in the web browser.
