When Apollo admin try to create their own default workspace, often time they didn't add workspace ID to portal instance (via admin console), so their catalog connection will be lost for the new session. Apollo users don't know where to find this information, since Geospatial portal document doesn't cover Apollo catalog.
Basically user need to do the following steps in order to have Apollo catalog connection in their workspace.
I missed this for the APOLLO 2020 release, but I'll try to add it in the APOLLO Users Guide documentation and push the updates to the fluidtopics page.
To make changes in the mapping definition and queryables definition visible and active in ERDAS APOLLO Geospatial Portal, you need to unregister and register the ERDAS APOLLO Catalog used for searches.
Open the apollo-portal Geospatial Portal instance in your web browser. Do not authenticate for the APOLLO service.
From the Geospatial Portal menu, select Data Sources > Show data sources. Make note of the URL for Apollo Catalogue, as this value will be used in a subsequent step.
Using the drop-down menu for Apollo Catalogue, select Remove, then dismiss the Show data sources panel.
From the Geospatial Portal menu, select Data Sources > Define a data source.
Select ERDAS APOLLO from the Type list.
Enter the URL in the URL field exactly as it was noted earlier from the Show data sources panel, then click Register.
Enter your APOLLO credentials on the Authentication tab and verify that you can reconnect to the APOLLO services.
