As an administrator who provides a COTS Consumer Portal with standard searches based on SQL Server data source, I expect I should be able to run my consumer portal site using https (ssl) instead of http.

Today Consumer Portal must be run over http in order for SQL Server based searches to work.

That also means I must remove the COTS functionality ‘Go to my location’ from the portal as that requires https.

Note: We have tried suggestions at  https://community.hexagongeospatial.com/t5/WebGIS-Q-A/How-to-make-Consumer-Portal-working-with-HTTPS... with no success to date.

Geospatial Portal provides the Consumer layout to address simple yet efficient display of public maps for desktop and mobile users.

Consumer layout will be extended with a vector data display provided through the WebGIS vector service. The functionality includes publishing of vector feature class, displaying vector data on the map with tooltips and feature info available for the displayed feature instances.

The “Feature Info” tool will retrieve attribute information for all layers under the tapped point if such data is available. It will be invoked through a button conveniently located near the navigator bar.

Occassionally a source service (wms, wfs, wmts or wmps) can temporarily be in error state. When this occurs during first use of consumer portal following app pool restart or similar, the backend caches the error result from the service. From then on all users launching consumer portal get the results of the error even though the service that was in error is not longer in error.

Request that the backend service not cache error responses from services such as wms, wfs, wmts, or wmps to minimize impact of temporary outages or error state of those services.

As a user of consumer portal, i want to be able to navigate to a location, review map content for current map composition, then switch to a different map composition and review content from that map for current location. i.e. after switching between map compositions I shouldn't need to navigate back to my current location.

As an administrator I want to be able to configure the system so it either uses current behaviour - zoom to map extents when changing map compositions - or stay at current location when changing map compositions.

As an Administrator of Geospatial Portal I am likely to maintain many Workspaces/Maps within the AdminPortal (http://<servername>/AdminConsole/AdminPortal/) for the Geospatial Portal instances running on the server.

It would be a great benefit for somewhere in the AdminPortal interface to easily show which Workspace/Map is currently loaded/displayed to ensure the correct workspace is being edited/updated.

SVG files generated by GeoMedia WebMap and displayed in the browser need the modernization to improve performance and user experience.

  • Enhance the SVG originating from WebMap vector services (WMS/WMPS)
  • Enhance the rendering engine in Geospatial Portal to use libraries (e.g. jQuery) that are handled by modern web browsers and visualize vector features from WMS/WFS/WMPS services in an efficient way.
