Symptoms

Output from Image Difference (Change Detection) tool results in incorrect Highlight Change file when “As Value” option used.

 

How to reproduce the problem:

  • Start the Image Difference (Change Detection) tool (ERDAS IMAGINE > Raster tab > Change Detection group > Change Detection Tools dropdown lists >  Image Difference).
  • Select the input files for the Before Image and After Image.
  • Enter filenames for the Image Difference file and the Highlight Change file.
  • Select “As Value” in the Highlight Changes section.
  • Press OK to begin processing the data.

The result:
The highlight changes output file may not be correct. It does not show any unchanged areas.

 

 

 

Diagnosis

What is expected to happen?
The highlight changes output file should show both changed (increased/decreased value) and unchanged areas.

Solution

Use a negative value for the “Decreases more than” option (Default value -10 is give for convenience).
