Is there a limit for the values of omega, phi, kappa (w,p,k)?

 

Is there a limit for the values of omega, phi, kappa (w,p,k)?

 

For example, is it recommended to have the values of omega, phi to be less than 2 degrees in order to ensure that the calculations in ERDAS are still accurate? How about the error measuring these values by IMU? How this error is different from the standard deviation?

Nadir (near-nadir) Photogrammetry assumes near vertical flights with small roll and pitch angles. When you have large rotation angles, you will have several undesirabl effects, including variation in the ground resolution of pixels, more pronounced tiltling and occlusion effects, difficulties in the automatic tie point generation and inconsistent overlap. Due to these factors, the quality/accuracy of traingulation will be negatively affected.

Is there any recommend values the (w, p, k) can take, so that the accuracy in the AT calculations can be ensured? For example, is it recommended to have:

 

W, P < 1 degree

Kappa can be any value. It is related to teh flight direction. Omega and Phi theoretically are zero (vertical flights), but deviations from that is to be expected. I have read a study that says they should not be greater than 3 degrees.
