A customer need to edit terrain file (he has terrain data in LAZ format or TIF format). According to your experience, which is the best workflow to edit these data?
Edit the LAZ file manually (using ERDAS Point Cloud Toolbar) or automatically using some filters Spatial Modeler) and then finish the editing in Terrain Editor for Arcgis?
Terrain Editor for Arcgis is able to work only with geodatabase terrain. Is it right?
So he need to import the lidar data in a geodtabase and then work with Terrain Editor for Arcgis. Is it right?
What do you think abou it?

To edit a terrain file in Terrain Editor or SAFA,
In SAFA , you can only edit geodatabase terrain. In TE, you can edit terrain data in raster formats and TINs (LTF or TM TIN)
Since your data is in LAS format, you have to convert the data to one of the above supported formats to edit in those applications.
Due to the high density and number of points in LAS data, editing point by point is not practical and you will have to use the area editing tools.
There are area editing tools for natively editing LAS files in IMAGINE, but these are limited to deleting selected points, changing the Z value of the selected points to a constant value or offsetting their value by a constant value. If these tools are sufficient, then using the editing tools in the point cloud tab of IMAGINE should be the first choice.
Otherwise, you will have to convert the LAS file to other formats to use the advanced tools available in TE/SAFA.
