eATE - point cloud classification

Dear all,

a customer of ours has a problem with the Point Cloud Classifiy Tool  available in eATE.
Though if he checks the option to classifiy automatically the generated point cloud, the output is not classified.

I tried with his data and I have the same problem. ERDAS 2018.

Have you experienced something similar?

thank you
Regards

Re: eATE - point cloud classification

Clasificatoon does not work if the data is in geographic coordinates. Check if your data is in Geog CS.

Re: eATE - point cloud classification

Hi Giuseppe,

The point cloud classification does not currently work correctly in eATE, but there are three options to work around this problem:

  1. Use the point cloud Classify tool found under the Terrain and Point Cloud tabs.
  2. Use the Classify option in the Terrain Prep Tool. Click on the Process menu in the Terrain Prep Tool and select Surface. Choose the Classification tab in the Surface DTM dialog and turn on the Classify DTM option.
  3. Use the Point Cloud Classify operator in a spatial model.

Kind regards,

Stephen Bent
