Does anyone have the same issue?
One of my customers can't access the Smart Client with the AppLauncher. He get's an Connection refused error:
Dec 20, 2018 10:35:16 AM com.hexagon.applauncher.core.AppLauncher init INFO: Starting application from https://smartclient.gbi-info.de:443/GMSC/default.aspx?requesttype=hnlp Dec 20, 2018 10:35:17 AM com.hexagon.applauncher.core.AppLauncher handleException SEVERE: Error while loading descriptor from https://smartclient.gbi-info.de:443/GMSC/default.aspx?requesttype=hnlp. java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: no further information at java.net.http/jdk.internal.net.http.HttpClientImpl.send(Unknown Source) at java.net.http/jdk.internal.net.http.HttpClientFacade.send(Unknown Source) at com.hexagon.applauncher.core/com.hexagon.applauncher.core.AppLauncher.loadDescriptor(Unknown Source) at com.hexagon.applauncher.core/com.hexagon.applauncher.core.AppLauncher.init(Unknown Source) at com.hexagon.applauncher.core/com.hexagon.applauncher.core.AppLauncher.lambda$start$0(Unknown Source) at java.base/java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor.runWorker(Unknown Source) at java.base/java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(Unknown Source) at java.base/java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Caused by: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: no further information at java.base/sun.nio.ch.SocketChannelImpl.checkConnect(Native Method) at java.base/sun.nio.ch.SocketChannelImpl.finishConnect(Unknown Source) at java.net.http/jdk.internal.net.http.PlainHttpConnection$ConnectEvent.handle(Unknown Source) at java.net.http/jdk.internal.net.http.HttpClientImpl$SelectorManager.handleEvent(Unknown Source) at java.net.http/jdk.internal.net.http.HttpClientImpl$SelectorManager.lambda$run$3(Unknown Source) at java.base/java.util.ArrayList.forEach(Unknown Source) at java.net.http/jdk.internal.net.http.HttpClientImpl$SelectorManager.run(Unknown Source)
The really wierd thing is, that in his IT-infrastrucutre, the GMSC and AppLauncher is working on his Windows 7 machines, but not on the Windows 10.
The AppLauncher is successfully installed. Also the GMSC via that server is working "outside" of the customers infrastrucutre. So it's not a serverproblem.
One of my customers had the same error message and it was due to his proxy setting, but as it's working on Win7 PC's, I can't find the problem which is causing the error message.

Can they reach via web browser from the same Windows 10 computer following links?
Also try to install and run Fiddler to analyze the network traffic and see why the connection is refused.
It might as well be some proxy tool installed on the computer...

You can also modify the network settings in net.properties, see:
You can force the App Launcher to forward the traffic through Fiddler proxy using this setting in the net.properties:
# HTTP Proxy settings. proxyHost is the name of the proxy server # (e.g. proxy.mydomain.com), proxyPort is the port number to use (default # value is 80) and nonProxyHosts is a '|' separated list of hostnames which # should be accessed directly, ignoring the proxy server (default value is # localhost & 127.0.0.1). # http.proxyHost=127.0.0.1 http.proxyPort=8888
