We have a potential new customer who is asking some questions in relation to Citrix etc.
Is there any users on the forums who have knowledge of running Smart Client over citrix who could give some advice?
Spec’s as to required Citrix setup for equivalent number of users based on previous installs (CPU/Memory/IOPS stats etc.)
Stats re required bandwidth for Citrix sessions
Graphic card specs for app server for Smart Client (there is no mention of a Graphics Card in the requirements document)
% of contingency to be added top spec for app server based on baseline figures provided (there is no minimum or recommended in the requirements document)
Confirmation that we don’t need to consider printing of large drawing files via Citrix
Yes, our customer has deployed Smart Client in a citrix environment. We were not involved in the setup of the citrix part of the environment so any info we would have in that respect would be very limited.
Thier main overall concern however was and still is the amount of RAM allocated to each of the clients, it will be over 2gb minimum so make sure that the citrix server has ample amount of RAM for the amount of client users expected.
