Re: Google Street View Plugin problems

Try setting the Google API version to 3.0 and make sure you add your key.

<script src="https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js?v=3.0&key=12345678909BXcy6wL5qR8tXv_kY61234567890"></script>

Re: Google Street View Plugin problems

Hi all,

This problem seems to have reappeared for us today.

C:\\inetpub\wwwroot\GoogleStreetViewPage\StreetView.html contains the following

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Google Street View</title>
    <style>
        html, body, #pano {
            height: 100%;
            margin: 0px;
            padding: 0px;
        }
    </style>

 <script src="https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js?v=3.0&sensor=false"></script>
   <script src="./Scripts/GoogleStreetView.js"></script>
</head>
<body>
    <div id="pano"></div>
</body>
</html>

I tried increasing the version going off https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/releases with no luck.

Any other thoughts? We are still on v2015 but intend to upgrade soon.

Josh

Re: Google Street View Plugin problems

I think you need to add an api key

Re: Google Street View Plugin problems

I generated one through the site

<script src="https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js?v=3.0&key=AIzaSyBqGFv2p9B6wMjktjSltKUlbqRR-xXY3dw"></script>

but no luck there.

Re: Google Street View Plugin problems

Google Street View no longer works in Internet Exporer in Webmap, only in Chrome.

I wonder if that is related.

Are there any other reports on Google Street View playing up again?

Re: Google Street View Plugin problems

Yes, all our instances have failed at same date.

We believe it is Java browser components not being compatible with latest Google API published last week.

There is a third party development component that can be purchased that looks promising, still playing.

Re: Google Street View Plugin problems

Thanks Shaun,

Do you think Oracle will make the fix at some point or do you recommend purchasing the component?

Re: Google Street View Plugin problems

No idea - we do not do enough Java development to get that familiar with Oracle likely direction.

If customers agree to pay for additional costs/development, we will likely go with the third party plugin.

Another possibility is to

  • write an web service that runs on the GMSC client. It monitors for position updates sent to localhost:xxxx or similar
  • GMSC launch street view in standard OS browser rather than Java browser
  • standard OS broswer jscript component to message back to the GMSC local client web service.

We have not trialled (aside from launching street view in a standard browser). Not sure on stability - performance - technical issues of such a solution.

Naturally above assumes suitable license understanding is in place.
