If you install Microsoft security update called Security and Quality Rollup for the .NET Framework 3.5, 4.5.2, 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, and 4.7 for Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2: September 12, 2017 (link), you might notice that WMS tiles served by GeoMedia WebMap (using Live loader) are not displayed anymore.
Resolution
Microsoft has identified that the problem is in the WPF components updated by this patch.
To solve this, uninstall a single package component referenced as KB4040972.
To overcome this, DO NOT install the complete rollup package, but rather only install particular fixes:
We also observed GeoMedia Smart Client Public Maps Map view featuresstopped displaying after installation of Microsoft security update ‘September 12, 2017, .NET Security and Quality Rollups that apply to the .NET Framework 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, and 4.7’. Following this article corrected for us on Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2012.
Hi jan, there are are resolutions (eg apply the 4043767 October 2017 Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.5.2, 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, and 4.7 updates for Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 (KB 4043767) ). Do you have any experience with it (instead of applying mentioned 3 fixes, that arw mentioned in the microsoft web as workaround).
Hi Jan, I don't have particular experiences with later patches. But Microsoft should remove the faulty September patches and offer October fixed patches instead; through the standard Windows Update channel. Honestly I don't see any match among KB numbers listed here:
I suggest to install the latest Security and Quality Rollup patches offered through Windows Update on TEST environment and see if there are any issues.
