GeoMedia Smart Client 2018 release will run on Java 9 only (which will be renamed to Java 18.3 in the future).
As per Oracles Java 9 download site, Oracle has dropped JRE 32 bit support and Java 9 will only run on 64 bit architecture's.
WIth the release of Java 9, Oracle will no longer provide public updates on Java 8 as of September 2018
Based on this information It is strongly recommend to move existing customers to the 2018 GeoMedia Smart Client release (planned for the end of 1st quarter) as fixes and updates to JRE 8 will no longer be publicly available by September.
The 2018 release primary focus was to insure the process of upgrading from GeoMedia Smart Client 2016 SP3 to 2018 should take very little effort with minimal or no impact to existing workflows.
