Store dimensioning and redlining elements at the serverside database (How To)

by Technical Evangelist on ‎09-02-2015 03:15 AM (626 Views)

Beside the possibility to do Dimensioning and Redlining on the client side you can also store the elements at the serverside database.

Dimensioning (serverside)

If you want to store your dimensioning elements in the database you have to follow these steps:

  • Create a table in your database (an arbitrarily name is chosen)

Oracle:

CREATE TABLE "MyDimensioningTable"
(
"ID" VARCHAR2(36 CHAR) NOT NULL ENABLE,
"TEXT" VARCHAR2(36 CHAR),
"GEOMETRY" "MDSYS"."SDO_GEOMETRY" NOT NULL ENABLE,
"DIMTYPE" NUMBER(3,0) NOT NULL ENABLE,
CONSTRAINT "PK_MyDimensioningTable" PRIMARY KEY ("ID") ENABLE
) ;

SQL Server:

CREATE TABLE [dbo].[MyDimensioningTable](
[ID] [varchar](36) NOT NULL,
[TEXT] [varchar](50) NULL,
[GEOMETRY] [geometry] NOT NULL,
[GEOMETRY_GDO] [varbinary](max) NULL,
[DIMTYPE] [int] NOT NULL
CONSTRAINT [PK_MyDimensioningTable] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED
(
[ID] ASC
)WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON) ON [PRIMARY]
) ON [PRIMARY] TEXTIMAGE_ON [PRIMARY]

Note: Adapt the name of the table to your desires.

  • Create metadata and spatial indizes for the dimensioning table.
  • Create a new feature based on the table MyTable. Change the Interpretation of the desired feature to Dimensioning

  • Change the symbology of the feature to Default Dimensioning

  • Change the feature right of the desired feature to Modify
  • In GeoMedia Smart Client you have to set the corresponding feature to active and then you are able to redline in the client and the data gets stored in the database.

Redlining (serverside)

If you want to store redlining elemtents in the database you have to follow these steps:

  • Create a table in your database (an arbitrarily name is chosen)

Oracle:

CREATE TABLE "MyRedlineTable"
(
"ID" VARCHAR2(36 CHAR) NOT NULL ENABLE,
"TEXT" VARCHAR2(50 BYTE),
"GEOMETRY" "MDSYS"."SDO_GEOMETRY" NOT NULL ENABLE,
CONSTRAINT "PK_MyRedlineTable" PRIMARY KEY ("ID") ENABLE
);

SQL Server:

CREATE TABLE [dbo].[MyRedlineTable](
[ID] [varchar](36) NOT NULL,
[TEXT] [varchar](50) NULL,
[GEOMETRY] [geometry] NOT NULL,
[GEOMETRY_GDO] [varbinary](max) NULL,
CONSTRAINT [PK_MyRedlineTable] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED
(
[ID] ASC
)WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON) ON [PRIMARY]
) ON [PRIMARY] TEXTIMAGE_ON [PRIMARY]

Note: Adapt the name of the table to your desires.

  • Create metadata and spatial indizes for the redlining table.
  • Create a new feature based on the table MyTable. Change the Interpretation of the desired feature to Redlining

  • Change the feature right of the desired feature to Modify
  • In GeoMedia Smart Client you have to set the corresponding feature to active and then you are able to redline in the client and the data gets stored in the database.
