Writing text feature into postgis

Dear all,

I am facing a problem in writing a feature of type "text" into postgis connection,

The error in the GMOTTS.log shows that the valid attributes does not include "Geometry_sk" but accept all other attributes.

Hint: I tried writing line and point features on the same connection and there is no problem.

Could anyone have a solution to this.

Thanks and best regards

Re: Writing text feature into postgis

Based on the description you should be able to avoid the error by omitting the 'Geometry_SK' from the list of source attributes to output using the workflow below:

  1. After identifying the source feature class and target connection on the Output To Feature Classes dialog... select the Advanced tab.
  2. On the Advanced tab, select the row in the grid that contains the source feature that results in the error (by clicking the row selector button '>' to the left of the desired row.)
  3. Click the 'Select Source Attributes' button.
  4. On the 'Select Source Attributes' dialog uncheck the 'Geometry_SK' attibute, then click OK on the dialog.
  5. Now click OK on the Output To Feature Classes dialog to proceed with the output of the source feature class. The feature class will be output without the 'Geometry_SK' attribute.

Geometry_SK is a system genereated spatial index column used for Access that is typically hidden. Thus removing it from the list of source attributes will have no ill effect since it is not needed or used for PostGIS.
