What is a GeoMedia Grid Study Area?

Answer

A Study Area is a tool for organizing and managing the grid layers used in Grid Analysis.

 

All grid layers belonging to a Study Area share certain characteristics:

 

  • all grid layers belonging to a Study Area fall within the bounds of the Study Area. Study Areas are always rectangular in shape.
  • all grid layers belonging to a Study Area have the same geographic projection, coordinate system, and cell resolution
  • all Study Areas begin numbering rows and columns at 0,0. Rows progress downward and columns progress left to right.

Study Area parameters can be viewed by choosing the Study Area List command.
