Question

What are the GeoMedia Import G/Tech Legend Requirements?

Answer

For the Import G/Tech Legend command to work, the following legend and style metadata tables must be present in the G/Technology database:

Table Name

Purpose

G3E_AREASTYLE

Has area style definitions.

G3E_COMPOSITELINESTYLE

Has composite line style definitions.

G3E_LINESTYLE

Has line style definitions.

G3E_NORMALIZEDSTROKE

Has stroke pattern definitions (referred by line style definitions).

G3E_POINTSTYLE

Has point style definitions.

G3E_TEXTSTYLE

Has text style definitions.

This command queries the following G/Technology normalized and optimized metadata tables

G3E_AREASTYLE

G3E_LEGENDS_OPTLANG

G3E_COMPONENTINFO_OPTLANG

G3E_LINESTYLE3

G3E_COMPOSITELINESTYLE

G3E_METADATALANGUAGE

G3E_DISPLAYCONTROLOPTABLE

G3E_NORMALIZEDSTROKE

G3E_DISPLAYCONTROLTABLE

G3E_POINTSTYLE

G3E_JOINTABLE

G3E_STYLEFILTERS_OPTLANG

G3E_LABELFILTERS_OPTLANG

G3E_TEXTSTYLE

The Oracle user and G/Technology configuration (schema owner) must have access privileges to the above-mentioned tables; otherwise, the command may not work correctly. If Oracle allows only the schema owner to access these tables directly, then the command must be run only when the connection is made by the user who is the schema owner. Once the legend is imported, the imported legend can be shared with non-schema owners or users who do not have access privileges to these tables, using GeoMedia library functionality.
