Full Text Search on a view

Hi,

Has anybody ever created a search for Smart Client Public Maps based on a view which has a Blob?

The issue I have is that I need to have an index on the view and I cannot create this because the view is not Schema Bound.

Trying to recreate my view (with schemabinding) causes me another issue because the view is looking at a linked databse.

This linked database is invalid for binding, and I cannot alter this database.

Is there a workaround for this? Maybe sombody has come across this issue before!

Hello

Sorry, I am not sure what the question really is.

I missed the link between a view with a blob and indexes that are not schema bound because of a linked database.

What is in the blob?

What is it that you are trying to accomplish?

Re: Full Text Search on a view

Hi Marc,

I am trying to create a search for Public Maps.

The search is based on a view.

The view is a combination of a geometry table and some attribute data.

The attribute data is taken from a linked database.

In order to have the search in public maps - a Full text index must be applied to the table/view.

I am not going to be allowed to do this.

I was just wondering did anyone ever come across a similar situation before.

Hi Marc,

Blob is the geometry.

Hi,

which type database are you using? Can you please explain better what you mean by "linked"?

Thanks,

Stefano
