GMSC - Upload of file bigger than 4 MP doesn't work after web.config change

Spoiler
Uplo

Hi,

we need to be upload with the workflow formfile files bigger than 4 MB,

so I followed the instructions I saw here in a blog post and entered in the web.config files (the one in the Programm folder and the one in the Workflow folder) following part inside the <system.webServer> tag:

<!-- Add this to extend the file size limit upload -->
<security>
<requestFiltering>
<requestLimits maxAllowedContentLength="2147483648" />
</requestFiltering>
</security>
<!-- Add this to extend the file size limit upload -->

I made a restart of the iis and restarted the client, but I still can't upload a 5 MB file.

In the iis of our development system I followed after the changes of the web.config the instructions in following article

https://www.inflectra.com/support/knowledgebase/kb306.aspx

(I added the same value for the maxAllowedContentLength as in the web.config files)

But even after these changes and an iisreset, I am not able to upload bigger files.

What esle could be the reason for this limit?

Re: GMSC - Upload of file bigger than 4 MP doesn't work after web.config change

Hi Gideon,

The max upload file size is controlled by asp.net and not GMSC.

Perhaps this is the post you were referring to, but I couldn't see the link.

In that post there is information on how to increase this file upload size limit.

Re: GMSC - Upload of file bigger than 4 MP doesn't work after web.config change

Hi,

yes this is the post I refered to. I forgot to add the link, I am sorry.

I did exactely as instructed in the post. But it didn't work.

This is my whole system.webServer Tag of the workflow web.config:

<system.webServer>
<!-- Add this to extend the file size limit upload -->
<security>
<requestFiltering>
<requestLimits maxAllowedContentLength="2147483648" />
</requestFiltering>
</security>
<!-- Add this to extend the file size limit upload -->
<httpErrors errorMode="Detailed" />
<asp scriptErrorSentToBrowser="true" />
<validation validateIntegratedModeConfiguration="false" />
<modules runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests="true" />

<handlers>
<remove name="ExtensionlessUrlHandler-Integrated-4.0" />
<remove name="OPTIONSVerbHandler" />
<remove name="TRACEVerbHandler" />
<add name="ExtensionlessUrlHandler-Integrated-4.0" path="*." verb="*" type="System.Web.Handlers.TransferRequestHandler" preCondition="integratedMode,runtimeVersionv4.0" />
</handlers></system.webServer>

and this is the one of the program web.config:

<system.webServer>
<modules runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests="true" />
<staticContent>
<mimeMap fileExtension=".jnlp" mimeType="application/x-java-jnlp-file" />
</staticContent>
<!-- Add this to extend the file size limit upload -->
<security>
<requestFiltering>
<requestLimits maxAllowedContentLength="2147483648" />
</requestFiltering>
</security>
<!-- Add this to extend the file size limit upload -->

</system.webServer>

I also attached a screenshot of the Request Filtering Settings on the GMSC Site in the IIS.

Is there something we overlooked?

Re: GMSC - Upload of file bigger than 4 MP doesn't work after web.config change

And what does the httpRuntime maxRequestLength look like in <system.web>?

<configuration>
  <system.web>
    <httpRuntime maxRequestLength="xxx" />
  </system.web>
</configuration>

"xxx" is in KB. The default is 4096 (= 4 MB)

Re: GMSC - Upload of file bigger than 4 MP doesn't work after web.config change

There is no httpRuntime tag in the <system.web> in any of the two web.config

should I add it in both of them with

maxRequestLength="2147483648"?

Thank you for your help!
