IHAC that has configured an domain certificate that manages all servers in their network.
It only allows the servers to be accessed thru HTTPS and if the request is in HTTP it redirects to HTTPS.
When calling GMSC it tries to start Java Web Start but gives the following error:
java.lang.SecurityException: illegal URL redirect at com.sun.deploy.net.HttpUtils.followRedirects(Unknown Source) at com.sun.deploy.net.BasicHttpRequest.doRequest(Unknown Source) at com.sun.deploy.net.BasicHttpRequest.doRequest(Unknown Source) at com.sun.deploy.net.BasicHttpRequest.doGetRequest(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.jnl.LaunchDescFactory._buildDescriptor(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.jnl.LaunchDescFactory.buildDescriptor(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.jnl.LaunchDescFactory.buildDescriptor(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.launchApp(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.access$000(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
I already did the web.config modification recommended in https://community.hexagongeospatial.com/t5/GMSC-Tutorials/How-to-use-GeoMedia-Smart-Client-with-HTTP... but it still doesn't work.
How can I overcome this issue?

Do you launch the GMSC from the DNS for which was the SSL certificate issued to? I mean, you should use domain or computer name that is listed in the certificate description. Also, make sure that you access the GMSC web site using HTTPS.
You can also test different network settings in the Java Control Panel such as "Use browser settings" or "Direct connection".

Hi Frank, yes support ticket had been logged, but due to tight implementation schedule the customer put this problem on hold.
