WMTS Image is not displaying in GMSC

Hi,

I added a new feature as WMTS in my GMSC project.

It could fetch layer from WMTS, but when try to display in AppLauncher, it is not displaying.

I have tried both 2018 and 2015 version, but same in both versions.

Does I missed anything? Really appreciate for the assistance.

Thanks & Regards,

Anil

Spoiler

Hi Anil,

There could be few things going on here. It would be good to get additional information.

Does the user's applied role have the right to 'visualize' the WMTS feature?

What information is provided in the Client service log file with regards to the WMTS feature display?

[ Edited ]

Hi,

Yes, we have given ‘visualize’ privilege in the role, so that it is appearing on legend in the GMSC client.

There is no log in the SmartClientService.log. But there is a client side log, please see the attached.

When we added the said WMTS url in the demo portal (WebMap), we were able to display the image.

I tried to add below demo WMTS in SmartClient, still image is not appearing.

Please find the feature settings in GMSC below and let me know is there any settings/steps I missed out?

Re: WMTS Image is not displaying in GMSC

Hi Anil,

First of all, make sure that the WMTS does work, there are many layers in this WMTS that don't work, e.g.

https://demo-apollo.hexagongeospatial.com/erdas-iws/ogc/wmts/?service=WMTS&request=GetTile&version=1...

Returns:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<ExceptionReport xmlns="http://www.opengis.net/ows/1.1" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
 xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.opengis.net/ows/1.1 http://schemas.opengis.net/ows/1.1.0/owsExceptionReport.xsd" version="1.1.0">
	<Exception exceptionCode="LayerNotDefined" locator="">
 <ExceptionText>
 An error has occurred: Error 86"File not found" location "NCS::IWS::ServerDatastore::CServerDatastore::ReparentDatasetPath" Dataset SaudiArabiaECW not found in the datastore </ExceptionText>
	</Exception>
</ExceptionReport>

Now for the usademo.ecw - this is not a projection-based layer (EPSG:4326). Keep in mind that you must use projection CS in GMSC, see:

I have quickly tested this WMTS: https://demo-apollo16.hexagongeospatial.com:443/erdas-iws/ogc/wmts/Public?service=WMTS&request=getca...

Layer: cherokee2009_v3.ecw

TileMatrixSet: GoogleMapsCompatible

GMSC project ~ US Sample in EPSG:3857

And it displayed fine:

Re: WMTS Image is not displaying in GMSC

It's just a regular EPSG:3857 - CSF file created via "Define Coordinate System" utility...

Jan
