01 Transforming an External Dataset for Internal Use
This tutorial provides an introduction to Schema Remodeler. Schema Remodeler is a utility that facilitates the migration of data from one format to another. Schema Remodeler stores and retrieves user-defined mappings and transformations in a specified Transformation Warehouse. With Schema Remodeler, data can be read from one or more GeoMedia supported format(s), transformed, and written to any GeoMedia read-write supported format, or supported export format.
When accepting data from third party sources the data is not always perfect. GeoMedia includes tools to help you detect and correct vector data issues. This tutorial will familiarize you with those tools.
In addition to geometry and connectivity validation, incoming data can also be tested for mandatory attribution requirements. Attribute Validation enables the creation of attribute validation rules that can be executed against a warehouse connection that contains feature classes and attributes. The result is a validation queue of feature classes and attributes that failed during the validation of the rules. This tutorial serves as an introduction to the GeoMedia Attribute Validation tools.
New construction or new collection/coverage areas that are extensions to an existing database can present data integration challenges. Edge Matching is the process of performing integration between features in data sets that share a common geographic boundary. This tutorial provides an introduction to the GeoMedia Edge Matching tools.
With data exchange on the rise, having the tools to enable you to selectively combine datasets when there are multiple representations of the same features will enhance your ability to add new data while at the same time, increasing the overall quality of the data. In this tutorial you will learn how to conflate two linear road features using the conflation tools in GeoMedia Professional.
