Dear all,
I need some help to understand how I can load IKONOS imagery into SAfA.
I downloaded one IKONOS stereo pair right from the Digital Globe website to test the importing process in SAfA.
The importing process recognizes the metadata file correctly:
In the next step the image appear in the list but Int. and Ext. boxes are in red colour:
When I click any of these boxes I get the error you see in the screen capture.
Does anybody can help me to identify where the problem is?. I read in the manual that I can do this process.
Every IKONOS image comes with its corresponding metadata txt files. How do I create a stereo pair if the importing process only read one image at a time?.
Thanks a lot for you help!
Santi

Hello Santi,
I tested importing different IKONOS stereo data to SAfA. And it imports stereo pairs successfully, 2 images, not a single image. IKONOS stereo pairs are defined by a <po>_metadata.txt file containing references to images. Do you see “Stereo Mate File Name” in the <po>_metadata.txt file? If so then please submit a service ticket and we will analyze the issue.

Hi Yasemin,
Thanks a lot for the infromation and your help.
No, I don't see "Stereo Mate File Name” in the metadata text file... I was testing this data-set provided by Digital Globe:
https://www.digitalglobe.com/resources/product-samples/geo-geostereo
I can't find any other IKONOS stereo sample data online. I don't really know if this sample data has the right format to be inported into SAfA.
Do you know of any other IKONOS stereo sample available?.
I tested the importing procedure for other Digital Globe sensors and it works like a charm.
Thanks again,
Santi

Hello Santi,
The metadata file should be in the right format. The metadata should contain Stereo Position and Stereo Mate File Names.

Thanks Yasemin,
I understand I don't have the proper metadata files.
Do you know of any IKONOS stereo sample available?. I just want to be sure that it works well.
Thanks a lot,
Santi

Hello Santi,
Metadata file is a text file and you can edit the component metadata section and include Stereo Position and Stereo Mate File names. We will submit a support ticket for this one and I will help you edit the metadata.

Thank you so much Yasemin,
This is really important to us!
Please find attahed in this message the metadata files I can find in the images folders for the IKONOS stereopair:
Folder structure of the IKONOS exaple is as follows:
\StereoPair\---------------------------------------- Root Folder
\StereoPair\po_1469762_0000000\---------- first image folder
\StereoPair\po_1469762_0010000\---------- second image folder
Inside every image folder I can find the file po_1469762_metadata.txt, The content of this file is exactly the same.Includes infromation of the stereo pair: AOI, images information, etc.
Inside every image folder I can also find the RPC infromation of every image:
po_1469762_rgb_0000000_rpc.txt
po_1469762_rgb_0010000_rpc.txt
I hope you can help me identify what I'm doing wrong.
Best regards,
Santi

Hello,
I just wanted to let you know that I managed to properly import the Ikonos data-set.
The error was related to the Windows "regional settings".
I changed the format to English (US) and everything works now...
Thanks to Yasemin, Dan and María for your help.
Best regards,
Santi
