clipping imagery

Im a novice imagine 2018 user.

 

In the attached file how do I make the black background white. Its when I clip an irregular shape. The output will be an ECW file

Assuming that the black area around your ECW image is NoData you can simply change the background color of the 2D View. Display your image in a 2D View with the “Background Transparent” option enabled. This option is found under the Raster Options tab of the Select Layer To Add dialog when choosing your image file to display. Right-click inside the 2D View and select the Background Color option then set the color to white in the Background Color window and click OK.

 

If you want to permanently change the pixel values of the background area surrounding your image from black (0,0,0) to white (255,255,255), this can be performed with a spatial model similar to the one illustrated below. Be sure to set the NoData value to 255 for the Raster Output operator.
