COSMO SkyMed positional inaccuracies.

by Technical Evangelist on ‎04-08-2016 06:02 PM (427 Views)

COSMO SkyMed products may have positional inaccuracies after georectification.

Due to a problem in the header files of some COSMO SkyMed products, they may not be positionally accurate when georectified. The value for the Geodetic Scene Centre Height is reported as zero in some products. This is not correct.

You can correct this problem by entering the correct scene elevation value in the SAR Metadata Editor.

  1. Open the SAR Metadata Editor (ERDAS IMAGINE > Raster tab > Radar Toolbox > Utilities > SAR Metadata Editor).
  2. Select the COSMO SkyMed file as the Input SAR image.
  3. Enter the correct scene elevation value for “Target height in meters” under the General tab.
  4. Click the Apply button.
