ERDAS IMAGINE does not typically do distributed processing across multiple system processors. Our software manages its processing capability using multiple core processors on one system. One license of ERDAS IMAGINE will provide the user with access to open 4 core processors on your system. Access to additional core processors can be added with the purchase of ERDAS Engine licenses. The user may also use programs such as Batch to manage computer processor time and optimize system capability.
If the use of multisystem processing is required, ERDAS IMAGINE does support distributed processing using the open source program called HTCondor. Information regarding both the ERDAS Engine and Condor can be found in the attached white paper.
