How to convert X and Y Coordinates in ASCII to another projection?
To convert the X and Y coordinates in an ASCII file to a different projection you should do following steps:
Step 1. In ERDAS IMAGINE Workspace go to Manage Data tab. And in Conversion group choose the Coordinate Calculator tool.
The Coordinate Calculator dialog will open.
Step 2. Now you need to set the Input and Output projections. In a Coordinate Calculator dialog go to Projection menu and from the drop-down list choose Set Input Projection and Units…
In an opened dialog set a projection and Map Units of your Input data. For example:
In a same way you should specify your Output Projection settings. In a Coordinate Calculator dialog go to Projection menu and from the drop-down list choose Set Output Projection and Units…

Step 3. Now you should import the data from the ASCII file. In the Coordinate Calculator dialog you can specify what coordinates you have XY or XYZ by clicking on buttons you see below.
With an LMB+Shift select Input coordinates columns by clicking on their title.
RMB click on any selected column title. From the drop-down list choose Import… .
The Import Data dialog will appear.
Click on the folder icon next to Import from row and choose your ASCII file containing coordinates you want to convert.
Click the View… button to open the ASCII file in the ERDAS Text Editor and verify the order of the column data. Close the Editor dialog.
In a bottom of Import Data dialog you can find a table, which allows you to specify the order of the column data is imported and the Separation Character and Row Terminator Character for your ASCII file. If your ASCII file contains column headings, you can specify the Number of Rows to Skip.
Click OK in the Import Data dialog to import the input coordinates into the Input X and Input Y columns. The reprojected coordinates will be displayed in the Output X and Output Y columns. The final results should look similar to the dialog below.
Afterwards you can save coordinates, print, or just copy.
