Symptoms

It is clearly stated in the Online Help that this tool can be applied only to imagery with standard companion metadata files for supported sensor types - currently Quickbird 2 (MS 4-band), WorldView 2 (MS 4-band and 8-band), and RapidEye 5-band.”

Solution

Before using the Rapid Atmospheric Correction tool, import the image into the original folder with the same original file name but different extension, such as *.img. Often the user does not import the data into the same folder where the original files are stored. The use may assign a different name  to the imported image during the import process.  It essential in this case that the imported image should be saved in the original data folder and have the same name (with different extension) as that of the original image.
