When displaying the same raster image in ERDAS IMAGINE and ESRI ArcGIS it appears much brighter in ArcGIS. How can I get the image to have the same brightness when displayed in each software program?
ArcMap applies a contrast stretch to images when they are displayed in the data frame. This stretch will alter the display characteristics of your image. You can change the type of stretch used in the Layer Properties dialog. You can access the Layer Properties dialogue for an image by right-clicking on the image name in the table of contents in ArcMap and selecting Properties from the pop-up menu. You can change the type of stretch used under the Symbology tab in the Layer Properties dialog.
