Question

What are the requirements for Radar Conversion (Beta Nought)?

Answer

Radiometric conversion is possible for detected products only. In a detected product, calibration constants are provided in the header of the original data and the image data was precalibrated by a SAR processor. To perform this type of radiometric conversion, the image you are working with must have calibration information. For RADARSAT-2 data, this includes the following formats:

  • SCN - ScanSar narrow
  • SCW - ScanSar wide
  • SGF - SAR georeference fine resolution
  • SGX - SAR georeferenced extra

Possible errors if data requred calibration information is not found :

"ERROR:No valid calibration information found in input image.Either sensor is not supported or calibration node is incomplete.Program is exiting."
