Understanding the ERDAS IMAGINE personal environmental variables and how to modify them.

ERDAS IMAGINE will generate personal environmental variables for a user’s personal folder on the fly. There are two Windows environmental variables that ERDAS IMAGINE needs: HOMEDRIVE and HOMEPATH.

Here is an example of possible settings for these variables:
HOMEPATH=\Documents and Settings\student1

When ERDAS IMAGINE starts it will combine these two variables to get the user’s personal folder. ERDAS IMAGINE will write the user’s personal preferences to that folder. Personal folder example: C:\Documents and Settings\student1

If the user does not have write permission to that folder they will need to change the HOMEDRIVE and HOMEPATH variables, so that the combination of these two variables points to a user’s personal folder where they have write permission. Use the DOS “SET” command. For example: SET HOMEDRIVE=D:\
