"Column contrast does not exist" error when attempting LUT Stretch.

Question

When trying to perform an LUT Stretch (ERDAS IMAGINE > Raster tab > Resolution group > Radiometric menu > LUT Stretch) I receive the error "Column contrast does not exist". What does this mean, and what can I do about it?

Answer

You could be receiving the error “Column contrast does not exist” because there is no contrast node in the image header. You can create this node by displaying the image in an IMAGINE 2D View and using the Contrast Adjust tool (Multispectral tab > Enhancement group > Adjust Radiometry menu > General Contrast) to display the image as you would like it to permanently appear. Now open the Breakpoints Editor (Multispectral tab > Enhancement group > Adjust Radiometry menu > Breakpoints) and apply the contrast adjustment to the Lookup Table (LUT). In the Breakpoint Editor dialog, make sure that the Apply To option is set to Lookup Table, click the Apply All button, and then click Close. Save your image and then remove it from the 2D View. You should now be able to process your image with the LUT Stretch tool without any problems.

Hi,

This kind of LUT issue can be resolved while changing Multispectral> move Brightness or contrast radio wheel like button and then save the data.

Then use ERDAS Imagine LUT stretch tools, then it works.

Thanks,
