Question

When multiple client machines have been set up to use Hexagon Geospatial licensing, how can you specify the name of the license server on the client systems without having to run the Geospatial License Administrator on each client machine?

Answer

Create a text file named INGRTS_LICENSE_PATH using a simple text editor such as Notepad. The content of the file should contain the name of the license server machine followed by a semicolon. In the example below, the name of the license server machine is myserver.

@myserver;

If a port needs to be specified on the client machine, insert the port number in front of the license server machine.

27001@myserver;

Copy the text file INGRTS_LICENSE_PATH to the folder C:\ProgramData\Intergraph\Licensing on each client machine.

This semi-automated procedure only designates the license server machine. It does not verifify that the licenses are available from the license server. This function is available from the Geospatial License Administrator tool.
