What does the Contract Start Date mean?

Answer

For subscription licenses the contract start date means that this is the license and the maintenance start date for this license.

For maintenance licenses the contract start date means that the licenses will be under maintenance starting that day. As maintenance licenses are permanent licenses, the license start date will be immediate even though the contract start date is in the future.
