Editing point geometry issues in RichClient 16.6

Good morning.

We upgraded M.AppEnt to the latest version (16.6 update 4), but previous apps and workflows are broken with this update. We have a workflow set up where we can edit point geometries in RichClient. When clicking the "Edit Geometry" button, strange things happen. Steps to replicate:

  • Select one point geometry
  • Edit this geometry
  • All points within an "undefined" bounding box gets selected for the edit and error occurs
  • all_gem_selected.jpg
  • In other instances, RichClient gives "No features are selected" message, when Edit button is clicked
  • no_geom_selected.jpg

This occurred on M.App version 16.6.287.3 (update 3), also on update 4. We downgraded to version 16.5.772.2 and these issues disappeared.

On our workflow’s Geometry button scripts, the duAddEditAction gets called which basically executes the following:

SC.digitize('DwellingUnit', {commands: ['GE_MODIFY','GE_ROTATE','GE_MOVE'], startOnLoad: 'GE_MODIFY'},id);

We even tried hard coding the ID in the function to a valid point’s ID, but still bounding box or error occurs.

The only thing we can think of is that SC.digitize is broken in new versions/updates of mappent.

Attached is the RichClient log

Any suggestions and inputs are welcome.

Re: Editing point geometry issues in RichClient 16.6

Thanks Adriaan for reporting this.

I am seeing some of this behavior as well. I dont see the 'all points within an "undefined" bounding box gets selected for the edit' characteristic, but previously working Edit Geometry workflows that utilize the SC.Digitize are returning the message "No features are selected..." when Edit button is clicked and the selected feature is deselected and unable to be selected afterwards.

I am submitting this as a bug report and will provide updates as we have them.
