In the tenant's administrative schema there's a table for the GEOSERVICES - MAPP_GEOSERVICE. Inside this table there's a field that is called SUBDOMAINS. This field only has values for the OpenStreetMap geoservice.

Use of subdomains are typical of larger tile servers such as Open Street Map and Here Maps. They are used to help with browser parallel requests per domain limitation. The presence of these allows MAE (and other Web GIS applications) to be flexible when calling these services should the domain limitation for one or more of them be reached. These subdomains are typically single letters 'a', 'b' and 'c' (OSM) or '1', '2', '3' and '4' (HERE).
Not all geoservices make use of subdomains as it is not required due to traffic numbers.
Adding values to the subdomain attribute in the database wont make a difference unless you are specifically adding a valid subdomain.
