Mobile APP: Saving form and stay in form

Hello,

Is it possible to save a form but don't leave it after saving?

Our problem ist that we want to add an unknown number of objects to a new created form.
We realize it by 1:N <Table>, but there we need id of new form for saving objects in database.
Because form is new id doesn't exist yet.

Therefore we want to provide a button to save the form,
but still remain in opened form for adding list of objects.

Thanks in advance,
regards, Iris

hi Iris,

please put the target to the form itself in the navigation.

Re: Mobile APP: Saving form and stay in form

Hi Stefano,

it doesn't work. If we save form, form will be closed and ObjektList is reopened.

What I'm doing wrong?

We open form by <NavigateRowAction Icon="Plus" in ObjektList.xaml, perhaps is this the problem?

Here is our configuration.

Shell.xaml:

<Navigation Id="ObjektNavigation">
	<List Id="ObjektList" Title="Objekte" View="ObjektList" Entity="{x:Reference SP_Objekt}">
		<Form Id="ObjektForm" Title="Objekt" View="ObjektForm" Entity="{x:Reference SP_Objekt}" Target="ObjektList" />
	</List>
</Navigation>

<Navigation Id="PruefenFormNavigation">
	<-- here we want to stay in same form after saving -->
	<Form Id="PruefenForm2" Title="Kontrolle" View="PruefenForm" Entity="{x:Reference SP_Pruefen}" Target="PruefenForm2"/>
</Navigation>

ObjektList.xaml:

<List.RowActions>
	<NavigateRowAction Icon="Plus" Target="PruefenForm2">
		<Parameter Name="Field.Value.id_Objekt" Value="@{id}"/>
	</NavigateRowAction>
</List.RowActions>

Thanks,

regards, Iris

Re: Mobile APP: Saving form and stay in form

Hi all,

I've exactly the same problem like Iris.

I open a from by "NavigateShellAction", after the input of the attributes I want to save the form and stay in the same form.

If I save, the form will be closed and the form from, where I came from is opened again.

In the shell I also have the same configuration like Iris.

Do you already have a solution for this problem?

Hi all, this could be a bug, but it requires some investigation. Best if we received a support ticket on the topic.

Re: Mobile APP: Saving form and stay in form

Hi Gideon, thanks for pointing that out, I have kind of lost track of it Smiley Embarassed

The outcome of the ticket was that it's somehow possible to do it using undocumented (and not well tested) parameter NavigationMode="Auto" of the Form, e.g. <Form xmlns="clr-namespace:AppShell;assembly=AppShell" NavigationMode="Auto">. Unfortunately it will work only when creating new entities and the consequtive Save will dismiss the form anyway.

=> Currently this works as designed and would require some changes to be done. Product Idea is the right way to go.

Re: Mobile APP: Saving form and stay in form

Hi everyone,

the NavigationMode="Auto" didn't lead to the expecting result.

I have created a Product Idea:
