SQL Server Vector Data

Hi Guys ,

Just a quick question.

I am busy testing M.app Ent for possible use at a client , need to test vector data located in both SQL Server and Oracle 12c.

While busy testing SQL Server I notice that not all vector data is loaded , one case in specific.

The SQL Server contains a RunLayer table with millions of data point populated by a truck testing road services.

The table has the CoordGeocodePoint_SPA_ins and CoordGeocodePoint_SPA_upd triggers , spatial index set , gdo data populated etc.

From this table 7 views has been created filtering out data for the past years. All views has gdo data etc and is currently being used in webmap etc.But when trying to import as vector data in M.App Ent. only the table and 3 of the views are listed , the other 4 views does not show up.

Gdo Data etc is correct , any other ideas for what I can look out for?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Jacques

Re: SQL Server Vector Data

Hi Jacques,

is your SQL server database set as case sensitive? Do you have any special char in view names (like spaces)?

Re: SQL Server Vector Data

Hi Stefano,

The database is case insensative.

No, there is no special characters. All views are created from the same script , only the where clause differ on data selection.

(3 of the 6 views get listed)

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards

Jacques

Re: SQL Server Vector Data

I don't see any particular reason they are not listed. Are you making something on the geometry in the filtering?

Re: SQL Server Vector Data

Hi Stefano,

No, simply filtering the data between a date.

Re: SQL Server Vector Data

You can try to execute the following SQL statement:

SELECT table_name, column_name FROM information_schema.columns WHERE data_type='geometry' OR data_type='geography' ORDER BY table_name

Are the views listed there?

Re: SQL Server Vector Data

Hi Tpaul,

Thanks for the info.

I have execute the sql statement and all the tables and views that should have been returned was returned.

M.app Ent is missing a few views though.

Kind Regards

Re: SQL Server Vector Data

So this statement also returns a result?

SELECT TOP 1 {geometrycolumn} FROM {tablename} WHERE {geometrycolumn} IS NOT NULL
