How to use Active Directory in M.App Enterprise

This tutorial describes how to use Microsoft Active Directory (AD) in M.App Enterprise.

The account that is used for warehouse access during installation needs to be a domain account. Otherwise there is no connection to your organization's domain.

The following steps are necessary for using AD:

M.App Enterprise Management

When creating a tenant you can choose the domain you want to connect to.

M.App Enterprise Studio

By connecting a tenant with a domain you get an additional menu in the Security tab. Here you can import AD groups and link them as roles for M.App Enterprise.

You don't need to decide between AD or external users for your Apps. You can use both types of users with a single configuration.

From now on users need to use their Windows account's credentials to log in the M.App Enterprise Apps page.

Hi Stefan!

I have succesfully added AD-Users to MAE - Login is working fine.

But: In MAE Studio those users are not listed as "Users" - so it is not possible to add those AD-users to specific roles.

Is there a possibility? Or do I have to group those users in AD?

Thanks in advance

AD users are hidden in MAE Studio ... that's a wanted behavior.

The assignments of the users are automatically used from their AD groups.
