Porting of a plugin developed for smartClient to Mapp Enterprise

Dear community,

in the past we developed a java plugin to perform an import of shapefile geometries to SmartClient, now we need to port the java plugin to Mapp Enterprise in order to perform the same task.

Could you explain me what are the steps to make the plugin available in Mapp Enterprise?

Regards,

Massimiliano

Re: Porting of a plugin developed for smartClient to Mapp Enterprise

Hi Massimiliano,

MAE 2019 will have Java Plugin API for customers to develop and use their own plugins.

Detailed instructions will be delivered (in tutorial format) with the 2019 release.

Similar to GMSC API, you would need a valid HGDN subscription to use the MAE API.

We checked with our MAE developer: the MAE API will be very similar to the GMSC API (of course with respect with the differences of the 2 Java clients, for instance no offline support in MAE Desktop), therefore you will be able to easily port your existing GMSC plugin to MAE plugin.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Frank
