Tile server visibility from the client

Dear Community,

In my M.App Enterprise dev environment application and tile service resides on the same server. Now I'm setting up the production environment, I'll have two dedicated server, one for the application and one for the tile service.

I need to know if the client will communicate directly with tile server through https (in the case of M.app desktop) or the client will still receive tile data from the application server.

Thank you,

Regards

Re: Tile server visibility from the client

Hi Massimiliano,

My understanding is that the Tile Service only generates the tile cache in Tenant's folder. The data itself is served by M.App Enteprise server.

Regards,

Jan

Hi Jan,

thank you for the information, could you confirm that the communications between the two servers are performedy through lan?

Thank you again,

Re: Tile server visibility from the client

My understanding of the architecture is that there's no network communication between MAE Server and Tile Service server. You actually don't put any URLs while configuring the Tile Service, only the DB connection and warehouse location.

The Tile Service server periodically checks the database for new publishing orders. And then generates the tiles on demand.
