Adding point feature to the base maps

Hi all,

I try to add a point feature to the base map (Here Maps), The feature is from a geojson file in MAppChest. When adding this, the feature instance is shown with the address icon by default and I can't find any method to change its symbology. This feature is utility feature and I prefered it is shown as point-like.

Appreciate all suggestions and ideas on this issue.

Kind regards

Re: Adding point feature to the base maps

Hi Bob,

When I try to add point features using the new BI Wizard I can see them normally as coloured points. Can you provide more details on your data and perhaps some screenshot to better understand the problem?

Thanks,

Re: Adding point feature to the base maps

Hi Jan,

When I add a utility point feature to the base map in the creating base map process, it shows me this:

I just wonder whether there is a way to customize symbology.

Kind regards

Re: Adding point feature to the base maps

[ Edited ]

Hi Bob,

OK, I can see the same behavior. Can't tell if point markers are the best icons for this case. Styling is not possible from the GUI. But due to expected wider vector support which is coming, I'd assume that there will be more options in the future platform updates.

In the meantime, you must modify the generated HTML content to apply different image file or style. Something like this:

var imgs = $("img[src$='resources/marker-icon-2x.png']");
for (var i=0;i<imgs.length;i++)
{
   imgs[i].src="https://static.e-junkie.com/sslpic/173210.2d931e9ca5db3e3e2b3790c5fa753902.gif";
   imgs[i].style.height = "20px";
   imgs[i].style.width = "20px";
}
$("img[src$='resources/marker-shadow.png']").remove();

Please note that you must host the icons on HTTPS web site. Or just use other combination of HTML/CSS to replace IMG with text symbols.

And yes, the other and clean workaround is to use a BI map.

Regards,

Jan
