Storing ordinary JSON-files in M.App Chest not possible?

Hi,

I want to store some app-configurations in M.App Chest. These would be ordinary JSON-files. I've just uploaded a JSON-file and the system says it was uploaded successfully, but the file is not displayed in my folder.

Is this a bug or a feature as in this is not what M.App Chest is meant for?

Hi Arjen,

I tried this just yesterday and it works fine on my M.App Chest:

I did the upload through M.App Chest GUI, download also work fine.

Can you perhaps open developer tools and check the Network tab to see if there was some specific error while processing the file?

Thanks,

Jan

EDIT: A workaround could be to rename the file to TXT before upload.

Hi Jan,

No errors. Maybe the upload just works fine, but it's simply not displayed in the GUI? I'll try the API if I get any results for this folder.

Nope, the files don't show up in the API-call either https://mapp.hexagongeospatial.com/api/v1/folders/{id}.json?profile=full

Can you then try with different file extension? I think it should not matter for the JavaScript which will then download the file back to the App.

Re: Storing ordinary JSON-files in M.App Chest not possible?

My bad, the content wasn't really json, but javascript. It had var foo = in front of it.

Doesn't explain the fact that it didn't appear in the chest even though the upload succeeded? Or is javascript excluded?

Re: Storing ordinary JSON-files in M.App Chest not possible?

As I said previously, I was able to upload JSON file without problems. No JS code, just JSON object.
