We see only examples on wo to configure search engine with Oracle Database. Can we have example with SQL Server and Postgis data ??

Yes, it's possible. But you must have Portal SDK and develop Custom Searcher Backend:

I have also developed MS SQL searcher backend. It wasn't too complicated and worked back in the day. Howevever it should be probably revamped with the latest SW versions.
