Issue while publishing from Geomedia to Web Map 2016. Same is getting pubished in Web Map 2015.

Hi,

We are trying to publish the Workspace from Geomedia essentials to Web Map Server 2016 on Windows Server 2012. Please review the warnings in attachment snapshot and suggest the issue resolution.

Note : we have tested the same using Web Map 2015. It was publishing without any issue.

Warnings : Non-Perennial legend entry is not based on Originating Pipeline.

Re: Issue while publishing from Geomedia to Web Map 2016. Same is getting pubished in Web Map 2015.

I can think of two explanations:

  1. You have Indexed Feature Caching enabled for the specific connection.
  2. There was a change in how GeoMedia handles thematic legend entries and their sub-entries.

Either way, both would make WebMap Publisher think that you have additional processing on the recordset used in the legend entry and it kindly signals that to you in the form of a warning Smiley Wink Normally, recordset processing using pipes (e.g. Spatial Buffer analysis in GeoMedia) incurs a performance penalty which in the case of running in a GeoMedia WebMap context is especially exacerbated due to it running concurrently for multiple users.

If you can confirm that you don't have Indexed Feature Caching enabled for the connection, I think you can safely ignore the warnings. If you have Indexed Feature Caching enabled, please disable it before publishing to a Service Source. Our tests showed that for WebMap this incurs no benefits and even slows things down.
