Thanks but I'm asking about the standard geospatial portal not the consumer portal.
I know that catalog search is supported at both MSSQL & Oracle.
But here i'm asking about Geographic Names (WFS-G) search which is configured from admin console

The Search Configuration section shown on your previous screenshot is for CP Search:
Please check out the WFS-G section of the "GeoMedia WebMap Administrator Guide" here:

I need to implement a search based on WFS-G like the attached printscreen from geospatial portal demo.
based on the 2nd url that you shared. it's OK at MSSQL, Oracle, Access
is it supported also at PostgreSQL/PostGIS??

Please turn on the wfs-g log (log4net) to see if there is any clue on the error.
I suspect it may be related to featurename (i.e. somehow the request is invalid or contains syntrax error, perhaps due to special characters in the input parameter).
A good test is to clone a record and replace the name with "ABC", if you can find "ABC" in this WFS-G, then test the GFI tool to see if it fail the same way.
